The composting facilities at our Lim Chu Kang 15,000m2 site consist of four concrete chambers, each of 16metres length with open tops which can be covered by heavy duty tarpaulins to create an in-vessel composting chamber.Composting
Feed material consists of mixing fine sieved mulch with bean curd and filling the chamber loosely with the mix. Air is pumped in to enhance composting and a programmable logic controller monitors and adjusts the flow rate to obtain the optimum parameters of temperature and carbon dioxide. In-vessel composting is completed in 14 days and the compost is taken out to cure for 7 days. Through good manufacturing practices, our compost is able to meet N Parks new standards for compost and soil mix.
