Beibei Delegates Visit ecoWise’s Singapore and Malaysia Operations

As part of ecoWise Holdings continuing efforts to enhance cooperation with key stakeholders, ecoWise hosted two visits by Beibei District delegates at Sunrich Integrated and ecoWise Holdings on 1 July and 4 July 2016 respectively.

As our joint venture company – CECRT is situated at Beibei District; the delegates came to discuss and gain better understanding of the holding company and its operations.

Sunrich and ecoWise representatives met with the six delegates on 1 July 2016 to showcase our tire retreading plant in Malaysia. Led by Mr Wei Jing Cheng, CPPCC Chairman for Beibei District, the delegates witnessed the whole process of tires retreading; from buffing a worn tire to applying new, natural rubber on to the tire, making it new, safe and reliable again. The delegates then proceed to ecoWise biomass power plant at Gardens by the Bay in Singapore on 4 July 2016. Touring around the biomass power plant, the delegates understand that being eco-friendly is more than just recovering of resources. To address environmental concerns, especially in land-scarce Singapore, the biomass power plant helps manage waste by turning wood waste into energy. Fly ashes and bottom ashes are then repurposed as soil amendments as well as fertilisers.

The visits concluded with a signing of a new Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement between Beibei District and ecoWise. “It has been a pleasure to host Beibei District delegates during the past two days,” said Mr Lee Thiam Seng, CEO of ecoWise Holdings, “ecoWise looks forward to working closely with the Beibei Government.” Beibei District is part of Chongqing Municipality. Located at the north of Central Chongqing, it is a satellite town well-known for its advancement in science, technology, and cultural progression in China.

To commemorate this meeting, Mr Wei Jing Cheng, CPPCC Chairman for Beibei District (fifth from right), together with his delegates and Mr Lee Thiam Seng, CEO of ecoWise Holdings (fourth from right) and ecoWise representatives, had a photo-taking session outside of our biomass power plant at Gardens by the Bay.
